There is a city. A Small City. A Small but beautifull city, full of great things, monuments and all that you can hope to discover. UNESCO discovered it.
We talk about the city that saw our birth, the “very noble and ever loyal city of Oporto, in particular of its Historic Center, ranked in 1996 as a World Heritage Site, located in the parishes of Sé, Miragaia, São Nicolau, and Vitória.

Here are the final words of the decision of the Committee of UNESCO.

“Both as a city as human achievement, the historic center of Oporto is a masterpiece of human creative genius. Military interests, commercial, agricultural and demographic converged on this site to house a population able to build the city. The result is a work of art highly aesthetic and unique in its kind. This is a collective effort, not the result of a work of one period, but successive contributions.”

The idea is to document in black & white photography, all the elements / monuments / buildings or sites, which justified such decision, but driven by two key elements:

The first of emotional character, devoid of any practical sense of the streets and places we went. We could not use the everyday routes taht are the faster ones and with less traffic. We really wanted to look at the city as it is, and mentally trying to fit this enormous puzzle that was the construction and development until the present day.

The second and equally important is what moves us physically, in what is the world’s most famous scooter, and more fantastic that the man could invent. We speak of course, the little Vespa, which made this project much easier and fun to make!

Therefore, we begin the Sunday schedule at unusual hours, with appointment at 6.30am! on Avenida dos Aliados, … (yes…six-thirty in the morning, as we live on the North, carago!)

The classified area contains 43 elements wich should all be documented.
Also included are pictures of other general interests, eg. the next, taking advantage of the exposure of Men T marking the 15th anniversary of the space T, currently on display at the Avenida dos Aliados until the end of August.
